Spaeth Hill is a culmination of over two decades of experience and expertise by the combined design practices of Citizen Creative and Nh.d Studio. While building Citizen Creative, Jill specialized in comprehensive signage and wayfinding programs paired with large-scale interior graphic design services. Nathan's practice, Nh.d Studio, focused on art direction, branding and interactive design. After working collaboratively for several years all while building their respective practices, Jill and Nathan saw the benefit of combining their interests and officially joined forces in January 2018.

She oversaw programs and initiatives for the organization’s 30,000 members with a specific focus on fundraising and scholarship development.

Nathan oversees the studio's work and leads the team's creative process. He brings experience working with various brands ranging from large corporations to small boutique operations. In addition to his work with Spaeth Hill, Nathan is an adjunct instructor and lecturer at GW's Corcoran College. He continues to explore visual art through collaborations and self initiated projects. In 2015 he began DC's first creative interview podcast series, Design Intercourse.
Chris is a native Alexandrian and joined the team in Fall 2019. He studied English at VCU in Richmond and was active in the music community where he developed an initial interest in design. In his work, he holds fast to the idea that design is just as much about communication as it is how it makes the user feel. He has experience in branding, packaging, and publication design.
Kimberly comes to Spaeth Hill from GW’s Corcoran School of the Arts & Design. She assists the team with everything from initial project research and findings to publication and website design. She has experience in UX, interactive design, and photography.
Chase comes to us from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles where he earned his BFA in 2019. His work ranges from clean, minimal compositions to big, bold, and graphic typography. Earlier this year he was featured in GDUSA Magazine as a Design Student to Watch in 2019. Aside from design, he finds joy in cooking, writing music, and consuming a ton of iced coffee.
Sam is a rising senior at GW’s Corcoran School of the Arts & Design and joins the team as summer intern. Her interests are in branding and web design and she hopes to learn more about signage and wayfinding.
